The Houston Astros announced today that they have scratched Bud Norris from his scheduled start this evening all but signalling a potential deal in the works.
While no deal has officially been announced, Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan is suggesting that the Houston Astros are heavily engaged in talks with the Pittsburgh Pirates for Norris’ services:
Sources: Bud Norris very likely to be dealt today, and Pittsburgh could be landing spot. Package built around Tyler Glasnow makes sense.
Of course, Glasnow, a 6’7 giant is considered one of the better arms in the Pirates organization and would be a hefty price to pay for Norris despite the Pirates having control of the longtime Astro for another two seasons.
On the flip side, it’s also being reported by Brian McTaggart of MLB.com that the Baltimore Orioles are also in on Norris, though, no names have been mentioned as to who would be returning to the Lone Star State:
A source told MLB.com on Tuesday three teams were hard after Norris, including the Orioles, who are in contention in the American League East, but no deal is imminent.
