Former Rutgers defensive lineman Eric LeGrand had his life changed forever on the football field with the Scarlet Knights and now he will forever be a part of the organization. The school announced today that they plan to give LeGrand the ultimate honor and showing of respect by retiring his No. 52 jersey.

From Tom Luicci of the Star-Ledger:

The jersey will officially be retired during a ceremony during the Eastern Michigan game at home on Sept. 14.

LeGrand has been an inspiration since his injury, so it is great to see him finally receive this honor. If there was ever a player deserving of having his jersey retired, it is LeGrand.
