Ohio State Buckeyes running back Carlos Hyde will not be facing assault charges stemming from an incident at a nightclub earlier this month after the victim involved in the incident asked that charges not be dropped. While we don’t know why the victim did not want to pursue charges, we do have a clearer idea of how things went down.
WTVN in Columbus released the video of the incident which shows Hyde and a woman exchanging swings. You can’t tell whether or not any contact was made, but the swings were there. Fortunately for Hyde, the charges have been dropped.
The bad news is that he still faces an indefinite suspension from head coach Urban Meyer.
You can watch the video of the incident that was released on Tuesday afternoon below. Hyde enters the frame at the 2:20 mark and things begin to pick up around the 3:15 mark.
