Cleveland Browns general manager Mike Lombardi offered mild praise for Brandon Weeden on Wednesday.
“I think everybody that practices football has really good days and they have some bad days, and I think everything’s a learning experience. And I think he clearly has proven in the offseason that he’s gotten better at everything they’ve asked him to do. So every day is about getting better and I think that’s what a lot of players are doing.” – Lombardi said about Weeden
It looks as if Brandon Weeden will remain the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, but not far behind will be veteran and former Chicago Bear, Jason Campbell. You don’t bring a veteran on board if you didn’t think he wasn’t able to compete for the starting position.
This team is definitely turning things around, right now their defense is their strong point. I am starting to believe in this team as they continue to move forward. Having their star running back in Trent Richardson, and possibly having their franchise quarterback in Brandon Weeden, this team could be on their way to becoming a playoff contender.
It may not be right away, but it very well could happen soon sometime in the future. Maybe around 4-5 years, if they keep going in the right direction.
