A few teams are picking up the phone and calling the San Diego Padres about relief pitcher Luke Gregerson as the MLB trade deadline approaches, but there is still plenty of doubt that the team will actually agree to move him before this afternoon. Joe Thatcher is a more like candidate to be moved from San Diego, however, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox are two teams that could be interested in Gregerson if the Padres make a deal.

This season, Gregerson has pitched 43 1/3 innings and posted a 2.91 ERA and 39/9 K/BB ratio.
He would certainly help bolster any bullpen that would be lucky enough to land his services.
