The Baltimore Orioles kicked the tires so to speak on Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau earlier but the talks are cooling off. This is despite an earlier report that said the Baltimore Orioles were interested in Bud Norris and Morneau.
Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun tweeted out that the talks between Baltimore and Minnesota hasn’t heated up in days. That is not a good sign on a the day of a trade deadline. The Orioles decided that it wasn’t a fit production wise for the money, and the fact that he is left handed further hurts the equation.
Morneau is a couple months removed from his 32nd birthday and will make $14 million this year before becoming a free agent this winter.
