The Texas Rangers name is being dragged into a lot of potential trade rumors on deadline day. Most recently Danny Knobler of CBS reports that the Rangers could be interested in Houston Astros starting pitcher Bud Norris. Not to add to their roster, simply to flip for a hitter which is what the Rangers really need.

The Rangers just traded for Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Garza and are already considering flipping him if it brings a bat into their lineup.

But the priority for the Rangers is still bats. Their pitching has been solid, the offense has let down the starting rotation at times. With Lance Berkman’s injury and Nelson Cruz’s impending suspension they need help.
The non-waiver trade deadling for Major League Baseball is Wednesday July 31st, at 4 PM EST.
