MLB Trade Rumors: Yankees getting offers for Phil Hughes

As the trade deadline approaches the New York Yankees phone has started ringing as teams have begun to call about pitcher Phil Hughes according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY.

Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes is in the final year of his contract and will be a free agent this winter. As of right now Hughes is 4-9 with a 4.58 ERA.

The Yankees aren’t looking to resign the pitcher, he struggles at home and fares much better on the road. On the road Hughes has a 3.02 ERA but at home it nearly doubles to a 6.02 ERA. Not to mention his 1-7 record in the Bronx this season. Out of the 20 home runs he’s allowed this season, 14 of which have been at home.

There aren’t anymore details offered on what the two offers the Yankees received were or where they came from for that matter.

Philadelphia Phillies infielder Michael Young said he’d go to the New York Yankees, is that a trade in the works?
