Free agent center Greg Oden has worked out for multiple teams in the past few weeks and is now ready to make a decision on his future.

According to Yahoo Sports, Oden will pick his future team at some point on Friday:

NBA free agent center Greg Oden will decide on a team Friday, a source tells Y! Sports. Heat, Kings, Hawks, Pelicans, Spurs & Mavs in mix.

Oden’s agent came out about two weeks ago and hinted the former number one overall pick would prefer to sign with a small market team who is currently rebuilding, that way he would avoid the pressures of the spotlight he might encounter in San Antonio or Miami. However, just a few days later Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears suggested that Oden was most interested in the New Orleans Pelicans and the Miami Heat, despite his agent stating otherwise.

Looking for playing time, most of the interested teams should present the former Ohio State star with plenty of floor time, assuming his creaky knees can handle it. Given that, it’s hard to imagine Oden passing up on the Miami Heat given their ability to present him with minutes and a chance at a ring.
