Jason Hammel will undergo MRI Friday, Wilson Betemit has rehab assignment next Tuesday

News regarding Baltimore Orioles right handed pitcher Jason Hammel and 3rd baseman Wilson Betemit has been released on Twitter by Brittany Ghiroli.

Jason Hammerl, who was placed on the disabled list on Wednesday with a right flexor mass strain in his right forearm, will undergo an MRI on Friday. The injury has bothered him on and off this season, which explains his high ERA of 5.20.

There should more answers to when he should be available for the Orioles after his exam tomorrow.

Now when it comes to Wilson Betemit, he will begin a minor league rehab assignment next tuesday with a Gulf Coast League affiliate.

Betemit is coming off of surgery to repair a PCL tear in his right knee, an injury he sustained in April, but he’s finally ready to get back to the field. The Orioles have received little production from the designated hitters spot this year, so Betemit could come in handy as the season continues to age.
