Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Matt Barkley are competing for the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback gig and heading in to training camp there was no clear leader. Now that practice intensity has picked up and the pads have been put on, the veteran Vick is reportedly emerging as the leading candidate to earn the starting job.

According to John Gonzalez of CSNPhilly.com, Vick took 24 of his 34 reps with the first-team offense, while Foles only received 13 of 27 with the first unit. Additional reports state that the rookie Barkley has been working exclusively with the third team.

New head coach Chip Kelly has previously said that he has no plans to name a starting quarterback without letting the situation play out, but it looks like Vick is in the driver’s seat.

With the Chip Kelly offense and Vick’s mobility, the Eagles offense could be very interesting and exciting to watch.

Of course, they will need to overcome the major loss of Jeremy Maclin, so there could be some bumps along the way.
