USA Today releases NCAAF pre-season coaches poll

The USA Today released the Coaches’ Pre-Season Top 25 Poll today. It has a lot of the usual suspects including the University of Alabama atop the polls followed by the urban Meyer led Ohio State squad.

The SEC is continuing to dominate with half of the top 10 represented by SEC teams. The SEC has 6 overall teams with LSU coming in at #13 led by Les Miles.

The Big 10 has a strong showing with 5 ranked teams, the highest of which is OSU at #2. Michigan and Nebraska come in at 17 and 18 respectively followed by Northwestern and Wisconsin at 22 and 23 respectively. The Pac 12 has 5 teams in the poll headlined by Oregon and Stanford making it in the Top 5.

The Big 12 fills out the middle of the chart with 4 teams ranked 14, 15, 16, and 2o. That’s 4 out of 10 teams ranked which compares nicely to the SEC which has 6 out of 14 or the Big 10 and Pac-12 which each have 5 out of 12 teams ranked..
