Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis: John Wall is the cornerstone of the Wizards

Now that the Washington Wizards and John Wall got their extension signed and made official, Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis says that Wall is the cornerstone of the Wizards and the team will build around him.

“He is the cornerstone of our team and we have clearly expressed our desire to build around him well before making it official by re-signing him. We are extremely confident in his leadership abilities and are excited to see the continued improvement of the team.” Ted Leonsis said in a statement released by the team

Wall exploded in the second half of the season, averaging 20.7 points per game with 4.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.5 steals on 44.7% shooting from the field.

The 22 year old guard could still work on his jumper, but given his new extension, he will have plenty of time to work on it. He is prepared to have a terrific 4th season in the NBA. Always a fun player to watch, deserves to be surrounded by players who can help him reach the playoffs.
