Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green went down early in the team’s training camp with a minor knee injury. Green hasn’t been on the field for practice since “tweaking” his knee last week and the injury is expected to keep him out of action at least through the team’s preseason opener.

There is still a very good chance that Green could miss more time throughout camp and the preseason, but there is no reason for the Bengals to rush their star receiver back.

However, there is no cause for concern.

Cincinnati expects Green to be back at 100 percent for the start of the regular season, so that is all that you can ask for.

Green will be fine without the preseason work and it could prove to be a blessing for the team.

With their starter on the sidelines, the Bengals will have an opportunity to get a look at their back up players and it will allow the team to have younger wide receivers step up.

As long as Green is good to go for the start of the season, all will be well in Cincinnati.
