New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony says his window is closing

In just a few months, New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony will begin his 12th NBA season.

The potential free agent to be is still ring-less and it’s possible the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft is laying the ground work for the Knicks front office to make some franchise altering moves as the former Orangeman says his ‘window is closing‘:

Carmelo, while speaking to children at his camp, says, “My window is closing I’m trying to bring a championship to new york ASAP.” #Knicks

It’s certainly an odd comment considering Melo, despite being a 12 year veteran is just (and I mean just) 29 years old.

Could it be a message to the Knicks brass that he wants some moves made before he becomes a free agent? Certainly sounds that way as you don’t often hear too many athletes, who are still in their late 20′s, suggest that their career is nearing a close.

Should be an interesting season in the Big Apple.
