The custom facemask trend that NFL players have been touting for the past few years has finally made it’s way to the much more strict NCAA and of course, Ohio State is one of the first to make the jump.

Ari Wasserman, a reporter for Buckeye Sports Bulletin came across a new prototype helmet which features a custom facemask, complete with an ‘O’ right in the middle of the grill.

There’s no word on if the facemask will be worn this year or even if the NCAA would allow it, assuming members of the OSU football team wanted to.

It’s not the first time we’ve come across masks with team logos in them as Bad Ass Masks, who creates many of the custom facemasks released a prototype of an Arizona Wildcats helmet which even came in school colors. Multiple NFL players use Bad Ass Masks to design their unique creations.
