The Baltimore Ravens were counting on Ed Dickson to be their No. 1 guy at tight end after losing Dennis Pitta for the season with a dislocated and fractured hip. Unfortunately, Dickson tweaked his hamstring during Sunday’s practice and now he will miss some time as he recovers from the slight tear that an MRI showed in his hammy.

From Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

The good news for Baltimore is that Dickson should be healthy enough to take the field during the Ravens season-opener against the Denver Broncos. The bad news is that he will be missing quality reps in practice as he prepares for his improved role in the offense moving forward.

It could have been a lot worse for the Ravens, but they will look to make everything work in the regular season.

Without Dickson on the practice field, the Ravens will be counting on Billy Bajema and Visanthe Schiancoe.
