The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team and the fine folks of adidas have unveiled the new uniforms for the team’s 2013 Shamrock Series against Arizona State at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas on October 5.
The uniforms are all-white with metallic gold and green accents. The uniform is completed with a nifty looking base layer, gloves that feature the “ND” logo and a great metallic gold helmet with a gold shamrock with a Kelly green outline.
Here is more information on the new look from the adidas press release:
Notre Dame’s helmet features Notre Dame’s signature textured gold with a gold chrome shamrock detail on each side and a Kelly green chrome face mask. The Irish will wear adidas Team Speed vertical socks with Crazyquick and adizero 5-Star 2.0 cleats.
Notre Dame’s new uniform features adidas TECHFIT ShockWeb technology, designed to keep players fast, cool and mobile onfield. adidas TECHFIT ShockWeb features engineered body mapping, which maximizes compression zones across the chest and sides, in a lightweight knit structure that provides a tight fit with enhanced range of motion. Integrated CLIMACOOL mesh zones create airflow to keep players cool in every temperature.
While the team’s alternate uniforms in the past have raised some eyebrows, these have got to be the best of the bunch.
Everything in the uniform looks great together, but it really those helmets that set them apart from the rest.
