Phoenix Suns Marcin Gortat still experiencing foot pain

This is not news the Phoenix Suns wanted to hear.

Big man Marcin Gortat, who suffered a foot injury in early March which ended his season prematurely is still experiencing foot pain, this according to ArizonaSports.com.

Gortat, who has been working out with Poland’s national team in preparation for the EuroBasket 2013 tournament has taken a three weak leave of absence from the squad in attempts to fix the lingering foot injury:

“Physically, I feel better and better, the rehabilitation is going well, but I still feel the pain of the foot, even during training,” the 29-year-old big man said.

“I have to make sure that I will be healthy for the whole season.”

The Suns center has flown back to the States to undergo testing, but is expected to return to his national team once the tests are concluded.

The 29-year-old Gortat, who has spent two and a half seasons in the Valley of the Sun will be a free agent at season, assuming the two sides don’t agree to a contract extension.
