Boston Celtics power forward Jared Sullinger has been cleared for full basketball activities, last week. That news manes Sullinger will be ready for the start of Celtics training camp.

Sullinger had surgery in February to repair two herniated discs. His clearance will mean he is available from the start of training camp, good news for a team heading into a rebuilding phase after having traded away 2 of its core players in Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
It’s good news for Sullinger as well.
The team has acquired Kris Humphries in that trade with the Brooklyn Nets, another power forward, and got first round draft pick center Kelly Olynyk. That is some big improvement along the front court and Sullinger needs to battle for the starting position other wise he’ll come of the bench. Not to mention Brandon Bass is still on the roster as well.
It’s an uphill battle for Sullinger to earn starter’s minutes.
