Miguel Cabrera reaches 25-home run, 100-RBI plateau
By Brad Rowland
Detroit Tigers third basemen Miguel Cabrera is one of the best players in baseball.
That fact is simply not up for debate, and many (including myself) believe that he is the best pure hitter in the game today. On Tuesday night, Cabrera reached yet another milestone to remind us of his greatness.
Cabrera reached the above plateau with a 5th inning RBI double, and it is important to remind everyone that it is August 6th. August 6th! The company that he joins is also absolutely tremendous, and Miggy is certainly on his way to being considered one of the game’s all-time greats, and after a 2012 Triple Crown performance, he is well on his way to another historic season.
Somehow, it appears (at least to me) that Cabrera remains underrated. In the shadow of Biogenesis, a breakout power surge from Chris Davis, and the sustained greatness of Mike Trout, the historic performance from the 30-year-old is certainly being covered, but not to the extent that it probably should be.
At any rate, Cabrera continues to churn out milestone after milestone, and Tuesday night was just another stepping stone on his path to the Hall of Fame.
