Phil Mickelson didn’t have the strongest finish at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational last week, but that hasn’t put a damper on the spirits of the 2013 British Open winner.
Mickelson spoke on Tuesday about the upcoming PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, saying that he hopes he can do battle with Tiger Woods since both are playing near the top of their respective games.
I can taste some of my best golf coming out. I can feel it. That has motivated me to continue to work hard and enjoy it, and I’m enjoying it more than I ever have. I’m as motivated as ever to compete and to play and get the best golf out of me to hopefully play against Tiger when he’s playing his best.
That would ultimately be the goal. If I can play as well as I can at the same time he’s doing the same, I would love that opportunity.
Woods, of course, absolutely dominated the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Let’s hope golf fans will be treated to these two giants battling it out this upcoming weekend.
