Toronto Blue Jays’ J.A. Happ activated, Schwimer designated

The Toronto Blue Jays have activated pitcher J.A. Happ from the disabled list after he was struck in the head by a line drive against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 7th of this season.

The Blue Jays placed Happ on the 60 disabled list following the injury. The 31 year old pitcher will return against the Seattle Mariners to make his first start since being involved in that scary incident months ago.

He has posted an ERA of 6.75 over his three rehab starts, after recovering from a skull fracture behind his left ear and a sprained knee on top of that. Hopefully he can avoid another injury like this.

In a move to open a spot for J.A. Happ, the Toronto Blue Jays have designated right handed pitcher Michael Schwimer for assignment.

Schwimer has been limited to just six appearances in Triple-A this year due to an injury of his own.

J.A. is looking to bounce back from that scary incident.
