Jay Bilas takes on the NCAA... and wins

ESPN basketball analyst Jay Bilas took on the NCAA Tuesday in response to the scandal surrounding Johnny Manziel and amateurism in college sports.

Bilas laid out his case on Twitter by pointing out the hypocrisy of ShopNCAAsports.com profiting off of student-athletes through use of the search function. Even though jerseys don’t feature the names of marquee players, it’s easy enough to find merchandise related to them.

Here’s how Bilas framed it for Manziel:

And South Carolina’s Jadaveon Clowney:

And Oregon’s Deanthony Thomas:

And USC’s Marqise Lee:

He continued on this trend with many more players and a few other fun targets…

…before the NCAA turned off the search function on their website.

Jay Bilas: 100
