North Carolina State Wolfpack running back Shadrach Thornton has been suspended the team’s first game of the season after allegedly pushing his girlfriend against the wall at N.C. State’s D.H. Hill Library on June 5. He was immediately suspended by head coach Dave Doeren and now we know the length of his suspension.

“We were made aware of the situation in June, and Shadrach was suspended immediately,” Doeren said when he first learned of the incident back in early June. “We have certain standards that we want our players to live by, on and off the field, and he did not live up to those standards. He had to earn his way back into team activities.”
Thornton rushed for 694 yards last season and the sophomore finished the season with three consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
