Rookies Debuting

Linebacker Dion Jordan (Dolphins, #3-overall)

Offensive Tackle Luke Joeckel (Jaguars, #2-overall pick)

There’s a very good chance we’ll get to see two of the top-3 players in this year’s draft go up against each other, as Jordan may very well be lined up over Joeckel, and we’ll get to see the highest-drafted defensive lineman square-off against the arguably the best offensive tackle in this class. Joeckel hopes to solidify an offensive line that gave up 50 sacks last season.

Jordan played only on third-down situations in Miami’s 24-20 preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He still managed to record two tackles and two quarterback pressures in his NFL debut. He’s currently behind second-year defensive end Olivier Vernon on the depth chart.

Other Rookies to Watch

Jonathan Cyprien, safety, FIU (Jags)*

Dwayne Gratz, CB, Connecticut (Jags)

Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State (Dolphins)

Dallas Thomas, G, Tennessee (Dolphins)

*Jaguars second-round pick Jonathan Cyprien has missed the beginning of training camp with a hamstring injury, is currently on the PUP list and will not play Thursday.
