Bernard Pierce Injury not serious; Baltimore Ravens breathe sigh of relief
By Jason Marcum
The Baltimore Ravens can ill-afford another injury to a significant offensive player, and it appears as though they’ve finally caught a break. The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson confirms Pierce’s knee injury is not regarded as serious:
Pierce was having a great debut last night during the team’s throbbing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last year, the former Temple Owl registered 532 rushing yards, and his 4.9 yards per rush attempt is the 7th highest in the NFL among qualifying players.
Pierce impressed so much as a rookie last season that the Ravens’ running coach Wilbert Montgomery went as far as to call him a “poor man’s Adrian Peterson” this offseason.
The Ravens backfield duo of Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce is quickly becoming one of, if not the best in the NFL, and they could become the reason the Ravens are right back in the Super Bowl discussion after so many people have written them off.
