Chicago Bears' rookie Jon Bostic could unseat D.J. Williams in starting lineup

I would like to dedicate this article to my Grandmother Diane (Reyes) Burton, a Chicago Bears fan who is currently fighting for her life.

A position in which future Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher held for a decade, is up for grabs this season as the Chicago Bears enter the season without their field general.

The middle linebacker position has been a question mark ever since Chicago and Urlacher parted ways after both sides were unable to agree on a deal that would bring Urlacher back to Chicago. Urlacher tested the market and decided to retire instead.

The Monsters of the Midway know they will never have another linebacker like Urlacher in their locker room, or huddle. It’s like trying to find another Michael Jordan for the Chicago Bulls.

So right now, with D.J. Williams injured, ESPN Chicago believes that rookie middle linebacker Jon Bostic could wind up making a serious push to unseat D.J. Williams in the starting lineup.

Expect Bostic to get a decent amount of time with the first-team defense, soaking up reps and the start against the Carolina Panthers.

He is the future of the middle linebacker position, so as a fan I am excited to see what he has to offer tonight.

At least he has Lance Briggs to guide him.

And no, Derek Rose is not another Michael Jordan.
