With Robert Griffin III still rehabbing his knee, Kirk Cousins once more took top billing as the Washington Redskins narrowly beat the Tennessee Titans, 22-21.

RGIII was dressed and warmed up on the field, but it was Cousins who efficiently handled the offense, completing 6 of 7 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown to tight end Fred Davis before Rex Grossman took over. Grossman finished with 119 yards and a touchdown of his own. It was Pat White, however, who ran in the game winning touchdown with just over two minutes remaining. He also converted the two-point conversion with a pass to Emmanuel Ogbuehi to keep the teams from overtime.

Tennessee focused on the run game as Chris Johnson burst through for a 58 yard touchdown. Former New York Jet Shonn Green added a touchdown later in the first to go along with his 32 yards rushing.

Evan Royster led the way for the Redskins rushing attack with 62 yards on 14 carries. Roy Helu added 57 yards on the ground.

Jake Locker was a solid 7 for 11 and 58 yards for the Titans while Ryan Fitzpatrick saw limited snaps going 3 for 5 and 23 yards. Rusty Smith rounded out the Titans quarterbacks with 75 yards and a fourth quarter touchdown to Quinn Johnson, which gave the Titans the lead until White’s 9-yard winner.

Next the Titans take on Cincinnati. The Redskins will play Pittsburgh.
