Mark Sanchez makes preseason debut by throwing pick-six (Video)
By Josh Sanchez
The New York Jets have one of the most intriguing quarterback battles in the NFL, but it didn’t take long for one man to separate himself from the competition and he didn’t even need to step on to the field. On his first possession of the preseason, after saying that he earned the start in the first game, Mark Sanchez did the thing he is best at — throwing a pick-six.
That’s right.
Sanchez dropped back waiting for a screen to develop, but nothing good happened and he soft tossed a ball right into the hands of Detroit Lions rookie defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, who returned the interception for a touchdown.
That gives rookie quarterback Geno Smith the early one-up on Sanchez, but it is important to remember that we are still only beginning. Who knows what Sanchez could screw up next.
