Sources have said that Michael Waltrip Racing will announce the full time standing of Brian Vickers with the number 55 car for the upcoming 2014 NASCAR season. The news could officially be coming tomorrow, as Michael Waltrip Racing stated there would be a major NASCAR announcement on Tuesday at 10 AM EST.

For the past two seasons, the 55 car has been shared between Brian Vickers and Mark Martin, but this big announcement seems as though that is about to change. According to ESPN,

Next year will be Vickers’ first full-time season in the Sprint Cup Series since 2011 with Red Bull Racing, which shut down after that season. His 2010 season ended after only 11 races when doctors discovered blood clots in one of his legs and lungs.

Brian Vickers was able to take his third career Sprint Cup win this past June, when he won at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The win definitely helped his chances of taking over the driver’s seat full time, as MWR general manager, Ty Norris, had this to say following that victory.

All I can tell you is wins help a lot of business issues, so this was a great day for that.

All signs point to this being the big announcement for tomorrow, so this is good news for both Brian Vickers and MWR.
