Miami Dolphins DE Dion Jordan nursing shoulder injury

Miami Dolphins rookie defensive end Dion Jordan had surgery on his shoulder for an injury back in February. That shoulder ailment is a lingering issue for Jordan and he has missed practice for two days in a row as he tries to recover from the injury.

It is still unknown what caused the set-back reported by the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero. It doesn’t seem serious enough to put his week one debut in question and is most likely precautionary. It could force him to sit out of next week’s preseason game, however.

Jordan is a focal point of the Miami Dolphins re-tooled defense. Miami also signed Baltimore Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes. The Dolphins already have Cameron Wake, Paul Soliai and Randy Starks along the defensive line. Jordan will be the final piece opposite of Wake.
