NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets might sign Stephen Jackson?

If you’re an NBA veteran who’s willing to play on a cheap contract, the Houston Rockets are interested in your services.

Enter longtime swingman Stephen Jackson, who reportedly is seeking to join the Rockets and the interest is mutual.

Per Alex Kennedy:

Stephen Jackson is currently training and hoping to join a contender. I’ve heard Houston mentioned as a possible landing spot.

The Rockets have become the new hot spot for aging talents looking to latch on for a Championship run and after reportedly being turned down by a couple squads, Jackson is trying to prove his worth the Houston.

If he does sign with the Rockets, playing time would be limited. Jackson only averaged 19 minutes for the Spurs last season and struggled heavily when he was on the floor, not to mention his questionable personality which has been known to cause locker room issues.

With Houston relatively deep at shooting guard and small forward, it would take a significant injury for Jackson to bypass the 19 minutes per game he received last season, assuming he signs.
