New York Jets running back Chris Ivory had his first full training camp practice today. Head coach Rex Ryan seemed pleased with the running back’s showing.

“He looked excellent,” Ryan said. “That’s one every Jets fan has been waiting to see.”

Chris Ivory was a part of a running back by committee approach in New Orleans with the Saints, he came to New York to fill a void created by the departure of Shonn Greene. Ivory is looking to establish himself as a featured back and make a name for himself.

Ivory in his three year career has only 1,307 yards. The majority of those yards came in his rookie season when he rushed for 716 yards. Ivory has seen limited playing time the past two seasons which account for a majority of the drop off in production. The optimistic Jets fans will point to his 5.1 yards per carry average as a sign of good things to come in a season as the featured back.
