D/ST is yet another important piece of the fantasy football puzzle each year. A roster could crumble with a poor performance from its defense. The more points the better, but sometimes a defense can score negative points, which nobody wants. I’m here to give you a few defenses you want to try to pick up before it’s too late. You can’t go wrong with these choices, as they are all top D/STs. You may see that my personal rankings may be a little different than yours, but that’s the whole point of opinions!
Here’s the top 3 fantasy defenses, based on my personal predictions and rankings.
I really like this defense, more than any other I think. It’s just something about the combination of their inside and outside rushers as well as their backfield that amazes me. The Smiths are a force to be reckoned with, and first round pick Eric Reid looks to have a big impact for the team. I think they’re going to have a great 2013 campaign, so I would strive to get them with maybe a 9th or 10th round pick.
I also like what Houston did with their defense as well, especially adding veteran Ed Reed to the roster. Add that with J.J Watt, and you’ve got a scary defense. I would feel safe taking the Texans with a similar pick to the 49ers.
Many sites have Seattle ranked number 1 overall as far as defenses go, but I like San Fran and Houston just a little bit more. Last season they allowed the fewest points per game, and that has to speak for something. Look for them to be similar to last year, or even better.
