According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport believes the Buffalo Bills would “love for E.J. Manuel to grab the starting job with two hands and never let it go.”

"“Absolutely it helps if he becomes the start and becomes successful, there’s not doubt about it. When you draft a guy in the first round to be quarterback, he”s going to be the fact of your organization, the face of your franchise. And as he goes, we go. And that’s part of what we’re trying to instill. Let’s be aggressive, let’s go with it, if he wins the job.” Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley told NFL.com"

In all honesty I think this team would be better off if Manuel did win the starting position. Not to take away from Kevin Kolb, a veteran player who could run this offense pretty well. But I think what this team needs is a fresh young face who can not only throw the ball, but take off with it when he needs too.

This is something haven’t had and I think it would be something they could use to their advantage with the talent they have on offense. Instead of a typical pocket quarterback, give the rookie some designed keeper plays, even options with speedy C.J. Spiller.

He went 16 for 21 with 107 yards passing with one touchdown in a pre-season blow out win against the Indianapolis Colts.
