Alex Rodriguez removed from New York Yankees film where he was to play hero
By Bryan Rose
The Alex Rodriguez stories just refuse to stop coming through the wire.
This time the story involves embattled New York Yankees third baseman as a hero in an animated children’s movie entitled ‘Henry and Me’.
The film, which has been in production for years now is centered around a young boy with an illness who is magically swept away by a ‘stranger’ named Henry. ‘Henry’ takes the young child on a ‘magical ride’ through the history of the Yankees, this according to IMDb:
"A young boy battling illness is taken on a magical adventure by a stranger named Henry. On their journey, the boy meets New York Yankee legends, both past and present, who give him lessons about baseball and life."
In the film, Rodriguez was to play the role of a ‘hero’ though given the recent allegations, A-Rod has been cut from the film – despite already doing voice-over work.
Per Fox Sports:
"A-Rod originally was cast to play the hero in an upcoming 100-minute animated film, “Henry & Me.” The movie depicts the history of the Yankees and features the team’s current and former stars, but investors have decided to cut his role out of the film because of fears that his recent suspension and the controversy surrounding him will hurt the marketability of the film, according to the New York Post."
