Arian Foster has been sitting out of the Texans’ preseason games with a sore back, but could get back into the team practices as soon as Monday, sources say. The Texans will take on the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, but there is no expectation that the star running back will take a single snap, which is obviously a wise choice. As Foster is expected to come back on Monday, he should be ready to play in Houston’s third preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
This is good news for fans, who may have thought that this sore back might have impeded on Foster’s regular season. Seeing him come back isn’t just good news for the team and its fans, but for fantasy football players as well. Knowing that Foster is going to be starting practices soon makes me a little more comfortable drafting him in my fantasy leagues if given the opportunity to with the number two or three overall pick.
If you do wind up choosing Foster in your fantasy draft, make sure you grab his backup, Ben Tate, in a later round, as this sore back could be a lingering issue throughout the season for Arian Foster.
