Potential disaster has struck the Cleveland Browns in their second preseason game against the Detroit Lions. Running back Dion Lewis, who has been a standout for the Browns throughout camp and preseason, suffered a leg injury that left him on the turf in obvious pain.
Lewis was tended to by trainers before he was carted off of the field.
From Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
#browns RB dion Lewis getting carted off with a lower left leg injury. He was no. 2 back w/ Hardesty out for awhile (knee scope).

With Lewis and Hardesty currently out with injury, the Browns backfield is down to an injury prone Trent Richardson, Brandon Jackson and undrafted free agent Miguel Maysonet.
The Browns have a very talented roster that could put them in position to compete for the AFC North title and a spot in the playoffs. However, without the much needed depth at running back and the added dynamic that Lewis would have provided, they could be in serious jeopardy of making a big move in 2013.
