The English Premier League kicked off today and the reigning league champions, Manchester United took on Swansea City. It took a while for the scoring to break out in this game but when it finally did, it was magnificent.
A deep lob pass into the box to an awaiting Robin van Persie was chested down. Then, RVP jumped in and kind of bicycle kicked it in for a goal to put Manchester United on the board.
Just minutes after that incredible goal the United team was on the attack again. A cross in was headed by van Perise and lands at an awaiting Valencia’s foot. He is at the corner of the six-yard box on the near side and sends it across to Danny Welbeck who just taps it into an open goal.
Robin van Perise added a second goal in the 72nd minute of the game. He dribbled up the field, took a step to his left to get away from a defender and struck a beautiful strike from the edge of the 18-yard box and buried it top shelf.
Wilfried Bony scored a goal for Swansea City in the 82nd minute to ruin United’s clean sheet. After a turn over, Swansea City worked the ball quickly into the box, where Bony drove it home.
Danny Welbeck wasn’t about to be out done by Robin van Persie and scored his second goal of the match in stoppage time in the 92nd minute. He got the ball close to the goal inside the box and chipped it over the goalie for the goal.
