NFL fines Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis for 'spazzing out' (Video)

Excuse the exuberance for Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis, who missed a large chunk of last season due to injury.

The veteran tight end, participating in his first game in over nine months caught a touchdown pass during the Skins preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans. There was nothing special about it. The catch wasn’t exactly fancy nor did it come at the end of a half or on a fourth down. In fact, it came mid-way through the first quarter on a second down. Don’t tell that to Davis though, who was extremely excited to be back on the field, catching touchdowns.

Davis, after catching the ball, ran towards the stands before the camera panned away. When the camera returned, Davis was seen rolling around on the ground, ‘spazzing out’ as he put it. The NFL didn’t enjoy it very much, resulting in a unsportsmanlike conduct fine worth nearly 8K.

“I just spazzed out. It was dumb,” Davis said. “I’m definitely going to come up with a better plan next time.”

No fun league? Or act like you’ve been there before? You be the judge:
