According to Bill Oram on Twitter, the Utah Jazz are in contract extension talks with both Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors.
General manager Dennis Lindsey said that the market will dictate the price, which is hardly a revolutionary idea for general managers. Favors hasn’t really shown what he can do as a backup, but he has averaged a double-double in eight starts last season.
The 22 year old big man could have a huge season provided he continues to get better at free throws and cuts down on fouling.
Hayward is set to be a restricted free agent after this season as he could be the favorite to lead the Utah Jazz in scoring this season. Based on how well he can shoot and drain three pointers, he had a post break out of 1.0 steals and 3.7 assists.
The shooting guard out of Butler could provide a lot of offense for the Jazz.
Dennis Lindsey says on @1280thezone that conversations about extending Favors, Hayward are ongoing. But willing to let market dictate price.
