Eccentric (read: attention seeking) New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith is spending the money from his newly minted, four year, $24 million dollar contract wisely.

According to the New York Post, Smith was recently seen driving around the city (which is difficult enough to do with a compact car) in an armored Gurkha F5 SUV/truck.

Per the NYP:

"NBA star J.R. Smith spent some of the $24 million he scored in a four-year deal with the New York Knicks on a flashy new armored truck. Smith, who’s recovering after surgery on his left knee in the off-season, rolled up to Meatpacking District restaurant Catch on Thursday night in a Gurkha F5, which is made by Toronto-based Terradyne Armored Vehicles and used by police and the military. Smith parked the oversize truck, worth about $450,000, on the street while he dined inside."

Well, I have to say, J.R. – it’s nice, but it’s no Kanye armored truck.

Though, I do wonder if Smith’s truck comes with the fake whale penis leather option like Yay’s.

You’re not truly ballin’ if you don’t get factory manufactured whale penis leather, AMIRITE?!
