Fox Sports 1 anchors Jay Onrait, Dan O’Toole read hilarious hate tweets (Video)

There have been a lot of networks (including Fox before) who have tried to launch their own ESPN-like network, only to fail.

Most who’ve tried have stuck to the same script, giving viewers little reason to leave the trusted Mothership. However, when Fox Sports launched Fox Sports 1 this past weekend, it was clear they were going for a younger, more open demographic who enjoys a laugh or two.

It’s a strategy that appears to be paying off given the solid numbers the network picked up over the weekend.

Using their wits to their advantage, the network’s flagship highlight show, Fox Sports Live (their Sportscenter, if you will) had hosts Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole hit up their social media accounts to see what type of responses they were getting from the world of Twitter and Facebook.

Needless to say, the critics were relatively harsh and the results were pretty funny.

Ummm, was that supposed to be funny? This crap instantly put me to sleep. I’d like to see another channel knock ESPN off their perch, but this ain’t gonna cut it.

      Are you nuts?!

      “DBag is a bit too far…. I don’t own a fedora.”

      That is comedic gold!

“We have not been trying for 11 years… and look where its got us…. and you are still in your basement.”

They openly called out people on twitter. Go and check some of the people they called out… they are pretty damn embarrassed… and some love them now. These guys even tweet during the show…. no one does that.

Onrait and O’Toole are damn good… not everyone is smart enough to get their humor.
