Landon Donovan may play overseas if no deal is reached with L.A. Galaxy

Landon Donovan’s stint with the Los Angeles Galaxy may come to end if a new contractual agreement with the club isn’t set before his current deal expires in December. Donovan dominated the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament for the U.S. Men’s National Team, helping the squad win the title.

Donovan spoke about the current negotiations Monday, saying he wouldn’t be opposed to playing abroad if a new deal isn’t reached:

Right now I am enjoying myself, I want to continue enjoying myself, we have received offers from teams in different countries that are intriguing.

I am still going to speak with the Galaxy and see how they value me and see where they want to go, going forward, but I am really open in a way that I haven’t been before in the past.

I was pretty content to stay in LA. But if it doesn’t work out and we can’t come to an agreement here then I am ready for a different challenge and we will see what happens (Fox Soccer Daily, via Reuters).

We will keep you posted as the situation develops.
