Jay Z refused to start concert until LeBron James arrived, prompting police escort

No more than two weeks ago, Miami Heat superstar LeBron James took to Facebook and wrote a relatively length post about the trials and tribulations of being in the spotlight. In the piece James talked about how difficult it is to have a normal life, though, he accepted it’s who he is and understands he has to do it.

Apparently, despite his irritation with the spotlight, he doesn’t mind using it to his advantage like when he received a police escort to a Jay Z – Justin Timberlake concert.

The escort recently was put under investigation where the Miami Dade police department apologized for their actions, but why exactly was there a police escort in the first place? Does James not have a car?

Well, according to TMZ, Jigga Man himself refused to start the concert until James was in attendance:

Sources tell us, Jay Z was refusing to start the concert without LeBron present, so police determined it was in everyone’s best interest to get LeBron there ASAP.

I think that warrants shutting down eight blocks of roadway so the face of the NBA could get to the venue in time, don’t you?!
