The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right handed pitcher Rob Wooten on their paternity list and have recalled Donovan Hand to fill his spot on the roster.
Wooten and his wife Katie are expecting their first child. If nothing changes, Wooten will only miss two games with the club as the Brewers close their three game series against the St. Louis Cardinals today at Miller Park. The team has an off day tomorrow before opening a three game weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds.
He was called up to the major leagues by the Brewers on July 26th after being selected as a member of the Pacific Coast League all-star team and saved 20 games for Triple-A Nashville.
With Wooten missing a couple games, the Brewers have decided to call up Donovan Hand once again from Triple-A Nashville. Hand was brought up before this season when starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo was placed on the disabled list then sent back down when Gallardo was able to return to the rotation.
Hand has a 3.83 ERA and a 30/16 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings this season with the Brew Crew.
In other Milwaukee Brewers news, Norichika Aoki will not be in the lineup today against the St. Louis Cardinals. Sean Halton will get the start in right field.
