It has long been rumored that Austin Dillon would be making the jump to NASCAR’s Sprint Cup for the 2014 season and one of his top sponsors has leaked information that it will definitely be happening. Of course, nothing has been officially announced by NASCAR or Richard Childress Racing, but the move is widely expected to take place.
“AdvoCare served as the sponsor on the No. 3 car of Austin Dillon the past two seasons. With Dillon making the move to full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing in 2014, the organization began the process of diligently seeking out its best option moving forward,” the company said in a statement.
If Dillon does make the move to the Sprint Cup, he is expected to take over for Kevin Harwick, who is leaving Stewart-Haas Racing to join forces with Paul Menard and Jeff Burton.
It is also expected that if/when Dillon makes the leap to the Sprint Cup full-time that he will be bringing his No. 3 car with him, which would be the first time the number has been used in the Sprint Cup since Dale Earnhardt.
