The Cleveland Browns will be entering their third preseason game of the year this Saturday and wide receiver Josh Gordon will line up with the first-team offense, despite being suspended for the first two games of the regular season.
It is clear that the Browns want Gordon to get the quality reps with the starters before he is sidelined for the two games because of his suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. Gordon is the team’s No. 1 receiver, so they need to get a good look at what the offense will look like when he returns and there is no better way to do that than to play him against the Indianapolis Colts in a game where starters will play the first half.
Once Gordon returns, the Browns offense should be back to firing on all cylinders and there is no telling what they can do with Norv Turner’s vertical passing game.
It’s an exciting time for the Browns and their fans, so let’s see if the team’s promising young roster can deliver.
