Colin Kaepernick burst onto the season when he stepped under center for San Francisco 49ers, replacing an injured Alex Smith. He took the 49ers all the way to the Super Bowl last season. That had many analysts ready to throw praise towards Kaepernick, his mobility and rushing abilities plus his strong arm.

“Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever,” Jaworski said Wednesday on ESPN. “I love his skill set. He throws with accuracy. And in today’s NFL you have to have mobility. He’s got all those attributes.”

Kaepernick wasn’t so quick and ready to praise himself taking the humble route.

“I’m working,” he told reporters Wednesday, via The Associated Press. “To me, it’s a great honor that he said that, very flattered by it. But at the same time, I haven’t played a full season yet.”

In that partial season he threw 10 touchdowns and for 1,814 yards over 7 games. He also rushed for 415 yards and 5 touchdowns in the process.

In the playoffs he set the single-game NFL record for rushing by a quarterback with 181 yards against the Green Bay Packers.
